The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recently released a Health Claim (*) about extra virgin olive oil and its antioxidant activity (anti-aging) as well as its ability to decrease the Risk of Coronary Heart Disease with a minimum intake of 20gr of oil per day with 5 mg of hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives.

To reach 5 mg hydroxytyrosol, its derivatives (e.g. oleuropein complex) and tyrosol, take 0.3 g of product.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) released an Health Claim (*) about the extra virgin olive oil and its antioxidant activity (anti-aging) and the decreased Risk of Coronary Heart Disease with a minimum intake of 20gr of oil per day with 5 mg of hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives.

*"Olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress. The claim may be used only for olive oil, containing at least 5 mg of hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives (e.g. oleuropein complex and tyrosol) per 20 g of olive oil. In order to bear the claim, information shall be given to the consumer that the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 20 g of olive oil.” — The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)- EU 432/2012.

Our MOP-ManniOlivePowder® ingredient allows you to equal the Health Claim by EFSA with just 0.3 gram / 0.01 oz ( 1/8 teaspoon) of functional Antioxidant Olive Powder due to a Concentration of 14855.94 ± 445.68mg/kg Total Polyphenols (expressed in hydroxytyrosol and tyrosol derivatives) as requested by EFSA.

Our MOP-ManniOlivePowder® is a wonderfully unique, versatile ingredient. It can be used in the morning, sprinkled on yogurt or eggs. It makes a great addition to hand-made pasta by mixing it directly in with the flour. The powder can also be added to tomato sauce, sprinkled on toast, or used as an additional spice on meat. Also good on steamed or fried fish or with roasted or fried potatoes. In fact, this "magic" powder can be mixed with just about anything you want. The recommended quantity is so small that it will not affect the taste of whatever dish it is added to. It’s just 0,3 grams per day!
